Why we need to be our own rowdy cheerleader when it comes to our creative work
This is a note I wrote to myself before I hit publish on a new offering last year.
Writing notes to myself and cheering myself on in the creative process is something I’m pretty fierce about.
This simple but potent act helps me be present to what I’m feeling - the joy, the fear and everything in between.
It allows me to be present to all the act of creation is bringing into my life rather than just focusing on (or racing towards) the OUTCOME.
These notes help me continue to make progress even when a magnifying glass is needed to see the growth.
No one bought that offering through that initial “launch”.
But that’s not what I’ll remember from the experience.
What stands out the most is the way I showed up and poured my vision, creative sweat and joy into what I was creating.
What is etched in my memory is the way I stayed with myself, the way I didn’t let myself or my vision be swayed or defined by a single result.
This isn’t what I had planned to share...but my intuition was nudging me towards this.
The role of being the fiercest + rowdiest cheerleader of our vision and our work…..that’s ours.
📣BE IT FULLY AND UNAPOLOGETICALLY. 📣
And whenever we need to, we get to reach for the pen or whatever form of pom poms is your style, and let out a ruckus cheer…
....because whatever creative work is giving you that pulse of excitement (and fear), is simmering with hope and savoury possibilities…….is yours to create...is yours to express...is yours to share and expand.
